City or Municipal Code Enforcement Inspector

What they do:
Unlike building inspectors who focus on construction, Code Enforcement focuses on maintenance and quality of life. They respond to complaints regarding overgrown lots, unsafe housing conditions, illegal signage, or zoning violations. They act as mediators and educators for the community.

Demand:
Increasing. As cities focus on urban renewal and "smart city" initiatives, the role of code enforcement is expanding into leadership and strategic community management. It is a stable, recession-proof government role.
